Freshers Helpers

Freshers Helpers are current students employed during the first two weeks of term to help new students settle into their new environment. Certain aspects of their role include:

  • Welcoming new students to Bucks.
  • Helping new students move into Halls.
  • Pointing students in the right direction if they are looking for a location on campus and in the local area.
  • Answering questions about life as a student at Bucks.
  • Making conversation, introducing students to other Freshers and assist them in establishing friendship if required.
  • Visiting the accommodation, checking if Freshers have settled in, and either escorting and accompanying them to the Students' Union Bar, if they fancy a night out, for their next taste in student life, or staying in for a cup of tea and a chat.
  • Conducting Campus Tours, attending meet and greet and Welcome events to enhance the Freshers experience and provide opportunities to form friendship groups if desired.
  • Issuing NUS cards, assist with enrolments and other formalities

FINDING THE FRESHERS HELPERS

Freshers helpers will be available from when you arrive at Bucks. They will be dressed in orange t-shirts and will look a little like 'superheros'.

Keep your eyes open for the helpers and if you have any questions then ask them - they are there to provide you with help and assistance.
