The safety of BSU students will always be the most important aspect of running the Venue. It is why we have Stewards working at every event and it is why we hold a Zero Tolerance to issues like drugs and violence.
The Venue will do it all it can to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable night but you also need to be aware of your surroundings so you can help keep yourself safe at our events.
BSU is a CCTV controlled venue and we’d like to think we are on the ball most of the time, but there will always be things we miss and that’s where you can help. Always look out for one another, remember you’re all students together! Always keep your drink with you and if you have to leave it then leave it with someone you know. Don’t be afraid to speak to our Stewarding team if you feel something isn’t right or you are worried about something. That is what we are here for.
If you decide that enough is enough and you need to go home then make sure your friends are aware you are leaving.
We will never advise you to walk home alone and there for we provide a free bus service on our busy nights that will make regular stops around HW and often straight to your door.
If you can’t find your friends to say goodbye then come outside and just explain to a steward who you’re looking for. As long as we are not busy with something else we will always do the best we can to try and re-unite you with your friends!
