BUCKS POLL

Rewards

Student Reps are rewarded for their hard work and contribution to the representation of their peers with a reward payment of up to £100 funded from the Big Deal.

In return for this, Student Reps have the following responsibilities:

• attend compulsory training session - scheduled for 26th October 2011 so save the date!
• attend all Programme Committee Meetings in the year (approximately one per term)
• provide feedback through our online form
• assist with the election of your successor (final years will provide feedback about the Representation system)

All criteria must be met to receive the full payment but we do appreciate that on occasions there are legitimate reasons why you cannot complete all elements, in which case partial payment may be released (e.g. on submission of a comprehensive Apologies Form).

Payment will be made in two parts, one released in December and the other in May, by bank transfer: the payment will appear on your bank statement as ‘Bucks SU’. Please ensure you have filled in a ‘BACS payment form’ at your introductory training session: without them, we cannot pay you!

  • In addition to this, Reps will also be able to:
  • take advantage of our additional skills training programme
    • attend external national conferences
    • attend other University and Union meetings for volunteering accreditation
    • and much more...

Do also keep your eyes open for a range of social activities that we will hold throughout the year to say thank you for your efforts and allow you to meet up with reps from across the institution outside of formal meetings. In the past we have gone bowling and gathered for mince pies and mulled wine. We intend to start a society for reps this year and bring in some guest speakers but let us know what else you’d like to do!
