Why get involved in Recreational Activities? |
Getting involved in as many diverse activities as possible opens up new experiences and friendship groups that you may not have found ordinarily.
You can learn new transferable skills that could benefit you in your future employment, start a hobby for life or maybe just help pass the time and give you a welcome break from your studies!
|
Why get involved in Sports? |
Apart from the obvious health benefits, the massive friendship group that you develop and the pride that comes with representing your University, there is also an opportunity for some personal CV enhancement through being a captain or holding another committee position. You can develop and shape your sports for years to come as well as picking up a range of new skills such as organisation, leadership and communication skills.
Joining a sports team either as a player and/or a committee member will create social opportunities within a couple of weeks of being at University; offer you a chance to play at a level that suits you and give you life skills that will be of benefit when you finish your studies and start your future career.

Why get involved in Clubs or Societies? |
By getting involved in a society you not only get to participate in an activity or event that you enjoy, you also have an opportunity to help shape and develop the society through various committee positions, which not only ensures the longevity of the society but also looks good on your C.V.
Getting involved in a society is a brilliant way to meet new people, try something new, carry on hobbies from home as well as introducing something to other people that they may have never considered doing before.
